JAMMU, Nov 28: The Inter-Collegiate Kho-Kho (Women) Tournament 2024-25, organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, has concluded with impressive performances from colleges across the region.
In the ongoing tournament, GCW Udhampur triumphed over GDC Chenani by 12 points, GDC Reasi defeated GDC Jindrah by 8 points, GDC Ramnagar edged out GDC Hiranagar by 2 points, and PG Deptt. Jammu University overcame GDC Akhnoor by 14 points. GDC Mahanpur also claimed victory over Dogra Degree College by 2 points.
The matches were officiated by Dheeraj Sharma, Palbinder Singh, Pooja Sharma, Jagdev Singh, Anil Kumar and Gagan Kumar. Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, addressed the participants, stressing the importance of discipline, teamwork, and fair play.
Meanwhile, the Inter-Collegiate Judo (Men & Women) Tournament 2024-25 saw fierce competition at the Gymnasium Hall, University of Jammu. In the women’s competition, gold medals were won by Palak Sharma (52-kg, MIET Jammu), Anshika Manhas (57-kg, PG Deptt. JU), Akshana Thakur (63-kg, GCW Parade), Anshika Sharma (70-kg, PG Deptt. JU), and Nihanika Sharma (78-kg, GCW Parade). GCW Parade emerged as the overall champion with 20 points.
The tournament was officiated by Danish Sharma, Rameshwar Singh, Jai Bharat, Tarun Singh and Vinod.
