JAMMU, Nov 1: In an Inter Collegiate Kabaddi (M) tournament 2023-24 organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, GDC Udhampur beat GDC Akhnoor by 12 points (33-21), GDC Doda beat GDC Billawar by10 points (35-25), PG. Deptt. JU beat GDC Reasi by 08 points (30-22), GDC Samba beat GDC Rajouri by 09 points (33-24), GDC Khour beat GDC Kunjwani by 05 points (27-23), GDC Samba beat GDC Khour by 20 points (30-10), PG. Deptt. JU beat GDC Doda by 06 points (36-30) and GDC Kathua beat GDC Bhaderwah by 10 points (40-30).
While in ongoing Inter Collegiate Cricket (M) Tournament, MBS College beat Dogra Degree College by 107 runs and The Law School beat GDC Billawar by 8 wickets.
In the ongoing Inter Collegiate Kick-Boxing (Women) Championship 45-Kg Low Kick; Priya Sharma, PG won Gold and Banita Jasrotia; GDC Kathua won Silver medal. In Kick Light; Preeti Jasrotia of PG Department Jammu University won Gold Medal; Light Contact and Preeti Sharma of Department Jammu University won Gold; 48-Kg Kick Light; Khushi Kumari of PG Department Jammu University won Gold Medal. In Light Contact, Jimmo Devi of GDC Kathua won Gold, Meenakshi Devi of PG Deptt. Jammu University won Silver Medal. In Full Contact; Palvi Thakur of GDC Kathua won Gold Medal; Neha Rani of PG Department Jammu University won silver, 51-Kg Point Fight; Bhupinder Kour of PG Department of Jammu University won Gold and Suneha Attri of GDC Paloura won Silver. Overall trophy was won by PG. Department by 21 points and GDC Kathua remained runner up with 19 points.
The matches were conducted under the supervision of Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba Director Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu.
Meanwhile, a team of Jammu University Basketball (Men) left for Amity University, Gurgaon to participate in the forthcoming North Zone Inter-University Basketball (Men) Tournament 2023-24 to be held from November 3 to 8 November.
The Jammu University Basketball (Men) team included Neeraj Manhas, Mayank Bali, Anuj Raja, Anuragh Thakur, Laksh Mehra, Dhanshu Verma, Ritik Sharma, Kartik Choudhary, Pranshu Thakur, Loyal Seth, Shoorveer Singh Wazir, Ayan Raina, Rohan Kumar Kundal and Hritik Khullar will accompany the team as Coach and Manager respectively.
