JAMMU, Feb 18: A Poster Making Competition on the theme “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” was organized by Govt. Degree College, Kathua, in which a total of 57 students from the institution participated.
The jury members included retired Principals namely Dr Ram Krishan, Dr AK Malhotra and Dev Raj Sharma.
District Development Commissioner, Ramesh Kumar(IAS) visited the venue and he appreciated the students who were taking part whole heartedly in this event.
Later, during the prize distribution function the announcement was made regarding the judgments given by the jury members. The first prize was shared by two contestants namely Jarnail Singh of Part III and Neha Sambyal of Semester II.
The second prize was also shared by two contestants namely Himani of Semester II and Rahul Sharma of Semester IV.
In the same row, third prize was also shared by Monika Sharma of Semester II and Shivani Chouhan of Semester IV. Five participants namely Samridhi Gupta, Kusum Lata, Meenakshi, Nancy, and Shriya Sharma were given consolation prize. Three students who spoke on the topic related to the above mentioned theme were also presented trophies as an encouragement.
Principal Dr. Nater Singh spoke on the occasion, which was followed by the prize distribution.
