JAMMU, Dec 12: The University of Jammu’s Directorate of Sports and Physical Education kicked off the Inter-Collegiate Yoga (Men & Women) Championship 2024-25, here today.
Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director of the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, was the chief guest for the Men’s Yoga competition. He was joined by several dignitaries, including Dr. Mandeep Singh, Vimal Kishore, Vikas Karlopia, Gagan Kumar, Jai Bharat, Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Richa Mandla, Manjeet Kotwal and Vandna Sharma, along with officials and participants.
The championship featured intense competition, with colleges vying for top positions in both team and individual categories. In the Men’s team competition, PG Department, University of Jammu secured the first position, followed by Government Degree College (GDC), Paloura in second place and Jammu Institute of Ayurveda and Research, Nardani, Jammu captured third position.
In the individual category, Sahil from GDC Paloura clinched the first place, while Amandeep from the PG Department, University of Jammu took second. The third position was shared by Dushyant from MIET, Jammu and Prince Sharma from the PG Department, University of Jammu.
Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba presented trophies and medals to the winners. The matches were officiated by a panel of experts, including Sanjeev Kumar Pandey, Mukesh, Sandeep Sharma, Ankit Bali and Gorav Raina
