RAMBAN, Oct 4: The Inter-District Union Territory (UT) Level Chess competition for Boys in the Under-17 and Under-19 categories was inaugurated in Batote by Additional District Development Commissioner Ramban, Roshan Lal here today.
Organized by the Department of Youth Services & Sports (YS&S) Ramban, the tournament features 152 boys from 19 districts of Jammu and Kashmir. Participants took a pledge to exhibit sportsmanship and abstain from drugs. The winners will compete in the National Chess Competition. Previous competitions for Under-14 boys and girls were held on September 22-23, and matches for Under-17 and Under-19 girls took place on September 27-28.
