Ganderbal, Oct 3: The Inter District UT Level Thang-Ta Championship for Girls Under-17 concluded at the Indoor Sports Complex in Sehpora, here today. Organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) J&K, the two-day event drew enthusiastic participation from various districts across the Union Territory, showcasing the growing interest in Thang-Ta among young female athletes.
District Pulwama emerged as the top contender, securing 3 Gold and 1 Silver medal, dominating the competition. Athletes from other districts also performed remarkably, demonstrating impressive skill, technique, and sportsmanship throughout the tightly contested matches.
The championship aimed to foster competitive spirit and provide a platform for young athletes to hone their skills. The event saw participation across different categories, offering the participants valuable experience and exposure to structured competition.
Sheikh Shafqat Iqbal, District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Ganderbal was the chief guest who emphasized the significance of sports in the holistic development of youth. He encouraged the athletes to strive for excellence not only in sports but also in academics, underscoring the importance of a balanced approach to personal growth.
