POONCH, Oct 8: The Inter-District UT Level U-17 Girls Hockey competition concluded today in Poonch, with District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Poonch, Mool Raj Uttam, serving as the chief guest at the closing ceremony. He commended the efforts of the players representing six districts from Jammu and Kashmir and praised their sportsmanship
The event was organized under the patronage of Director Youth Services and Sports, Rajinder Singh Tara, with guidance from Deputy Director Central Jitender Mishra and JD-YSS Jammu, Ved Prakash. The tournament’s technical supervision was overseen by DYSSO Poonch.
In the final match, District Poonch dominated District Jammu in a one-sided affair, winning 7-0. Akshara was the standout performer, scoring four goals, while Haiqa, Razana, and Rozia each added one goal.
The closing ceremony was attended by Zonal Physical Education officers, PEMs, PETs, REKs, NYC volunteers, groundsmen, and prominent citizens. Vijay Kumar, PEM, served as the event’s anchor. Trophies and merit certificates were distributed among the participants. The matches were officiated by Rajinder Singh Toofan, Harmik Singh, Vikas Sharma, Sunil Raina, Ruchika Sharma and Ritik Sharma.
