Inter-house Aqua meet held at Shaurya Int’l School

JAMMU, May 16: Shaurya International School organized an Inter-house Aqua meet for the students of Grades II to XII, here today.
Krupali Patel Singh, a recipient of the Arjuna Award graced the occasion as the chief guest. Harinder Mahajan, chairman of Shaurya International School and Sahil Mahajan, vice-chairman were also present during the event as distinguished guests.
The special attraction of the event was the aqua dance performance by the students. The competition had a display of athleticism and sportsmanship as the swimmers exhibited wonderful swimming skills in the freestyle, encouraged by the clapping and applause by the audience. All the swimmers put in a lot of effort to emerge as the best.
Speaking to the crowd, Krupali Patel Singh, the chief guest said that sports teach us to accept wins and disappointments as a natural part of life and help us build physical endurance.
Speaking at the event, the School’s Chairman, Harinder Mahajan emphasized the importance of sports and the role they played in the all-round development of the students.
While addressing and motivating the students, Sahil Mahajan, vice-chairman stressed on the advantages of becoming a sportsperson and further added that sports can help in becoming more self-assured, physically fit and productive, in addition to providing a financially lucrative job.
All of the attendees’ spirits were raised by the motivational speech delivered by the School’s Principal, Dr. Rajesh Gandral. He claimed that sports events provide a necessary break from the cycle of academic procedures.
