JAMMU, Jan 15: Traditional inter panchayat Dangal was held in Panchayat Halqa Jaidrah, herer today.
The event was organised by Ram Parshotam and Madan Lal Sharma, while Anil Sharma, BJP State Convenor Panchayati Raj and Border Cell presided over the function as chief guest.
In the Dangal ,local wrestlers from nearby Panchayats were provided platform to display their wrestling skills.
While appreciating organizers for holding such sports events at local level Anil said, “Sports events not only bring people closer to each other but also keep younger generation away from social evils like narcotics and drug addiction”.
Sharma also honoured the winners and other participating Wrestlers and urged the state sports department to expedite the work of providing one playing ground in each Panchayat.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Sarpanch Onkar Singh, KK Sharma, Fazi Chowdary, Shanker Dass, Dr Sunil Sharma, Gardhari Lal Sharma, Sudesh kumar, Pawan Sharma, Panch Sach Dev Singh, Dewan chand, Deepak kumar and Jagdish Raj Sharma.
