SAMBA, Sept 16: Samba District Inter-School Athletic Meet got underway at Government Higher Secondary School Ground, here today.
The Meet is being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the overall supervision of Jarpal Singh, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Samba.
Vijay Kumar of Jyoti Public School bagged Under-14 boys 100 Mtr gold, while the silver and bronze went to Sanjeev Singh of MS Sadoh and Akhil Sarmal of Rich Harves Bari Brahmana respectively.
In Under-14 boys 200 Mtrs gold went to Jogesh Kumar, silver to Tarun Sharma and bronze to Raghubir, while Aniket, Paramveer Singh and Ravi Sharma claimed gold, silver and bronze in Under-14 boys 400 Mtrs respectively.
In Under-14 boys 600 Mtrs, Sahil, Abhay Singh and Anil Thapa won gold, silver and bronze medals respectively, while in shot put Under-14 boys, Shabir Ahmed, Tajinder Singh and Jakir Hussain bagged gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
The discus throw, broad jump and high jump events were also held on the occasion.
Meanwhile, in Under-14 girls 100 Mtrs, Jasmeen Akhter, Priyanka Devi and Begum clinched gold, silver and bronze respectively, while in Under-14 girls 200 Mtrs, Sangita Devi got gold, Priyanka Devi bagged silver and Manu Sharma clinched bronze, while in 400 Mtrs Under-14 girls, Javeda Begum, Rohini Sharma and Basundra Bagal claimed gold, silver and bronze respectively.
In Under-14 girls 600 Mtrs, Huma Bibi bagged gold, while silver and bronze medals went to Deepika Kumari and Shama Begum respectively.
Shot put, discus throw, broad jump and high jump events in girls section were also held on the occasion.
