JAMMU, Aug 7: The Zonal Level Inter-School Athletic Meet Under-19 boys, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Samba got underway, here today.
The Meet is being held under the supervision of District Youth Services and Sports Officer Samba, Subash Chander Bhardwaj, who declared the event open.
In Shot Put, Gurdeep Singh of Shishu Niketan HSS bagged gold, while Sanjay Singh of HSS Nud got silver.
In Discuss Throw, Sanjay Singh of HSS Nud and Raghubir P Singh of HSS Sumb bagged gold and silver respectively, while in Javelin, Jasbir Singh of HSS Nud bagged gold and Pardeep Singh of HSS Purmandal claimed silver.
In Long Jump, the gold and silver went to Sourav Baloria of HSS Vijaypur and Pardeep Singh of Shishu Niketan Samba, while in High Jump, Sanjay Singh of HSS Sumb and Pawan Kumar of M V International won gold and silver respectively.
In Triple Jump, Pardeep Singh of Shishu Niketan Samba and Rahul Singh of HSS Nud won gold and silver respectively, while in 100 mtrs sprint, Anil Kumar of HSS Vijaypur and Malkeet Singh of HSS Samba claimed gold and silver respectively, while in 200 mtrs, Anil Kumar of HSS Vijaypur and Sandeep Singh of M V International bagged gold and silver respectively.
In 400 mtrs, Anil Sharma of HSS Ghagwal and Neetin Saini of HSS Rajpura won gold and silver respectively, while in 800 mtrs, Rahul Singh of HSS Nud clinched gold and Surinder Kumar of HSS Sumb claimed silver.
In 1500 mtrs, Surinder Kumar of HSS Sumb and Rahul Singh of HSS Nud won gold and silver respectively, while in 5000 mtrs, Ajay Kumar of HSS Sumb won gold and Mukesh Kumar of HSS Rajpura claimed silver.
