Inter-school bilingual turncoat debate competition held

JAMMU, Apr 29: Army Public School Damana organized an Inter-school bilingual turncoat debate competition under the aegis of Sahodaya Schools Complex, Jammu Chapter, here today.
Brig RN Tewari, Chairman APS Damana was the chief guest on the momentous occasion. The event was also graced by esteemed personalities and dignitaries. The programme commenced with the lighting of a ceremonial lamp followed by a welcome song by the students of APS Damana.
Shallu Kapoor, Vice Principal of the School declared the competition open by extending her wishes to the participants. She also exhorted that knowledge and communication skills are the powerful tools to excel in the present competitive scenario.
A total of 31 Schools under the aegis of Sahodaya Schools Complex, Jammu Chapter recorded their participation in the competition. The participants exhibited their different views and opinions which served as a compendium of knowledge for all.
The debaters were adjudged by Dr Ritu Magotra, Associate Professor Deptt. of English, GCW Parade, Dr Anju Bala, Associate Professor Deptt. of English, GCW Parade and Dr. Sunil Kumar, Assistant Professor Deptt. of Hindi, GDC Bishnah.
Suneha Sharma of APS Damana won first position. The 2nd position was bagged by Armaan Gupta of Model Academy and 3rd position was secured by Banmeet Kour of Shaurya International School. The consolation prizes were clinched by Sadhna Verma, Ankita Sharma and Manya Kohli of SNS Vidya Mandir, Sai International School and Birla Open Minds International School respectively.
The chief guest felicitated the winners with the trophies and certificates of eminence. In his address, he applauded the participants for showcasing their oratory skills and congratulated them for their commendable performance. The event was conducted by Deveshi Tewari, Aadish Zutshi, Dhanya Anand and Pranav Singh of Class XII.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Shivani Devi (XII). The event culminated with the National Anthem followed by light refreshment.
