KARGIL, Sept 4: An inter-school competition was held at Govt. Middle School Goma, Minjee, showcasing student talents in speech, essay writing, drawing, storytelling, spelling and handwriting. The event, organized by GMS Goma Minjee in collaboration with Councillor Baroo-Minjee constituency Adv. Khadim Hussain, saw participation from all Government schools in the constituency.
The gathering included prominent figures such as Zakir Hussain, Executive Councillor Education, LAHDC Kargil; S.D. Namgial, CEO Kargil; Abdul Qayoom, Principal DIET; and Former Councillor Sheikh Minjee.
In his address, EC Zakir Hussain commended the initiative and suggested replicating such events in other schools to further explore and develop student talents. CEO S.D. Namgial highlighted the educational benefits of the competition, while Adv. Khadim Hussain thanked the staff and expressed hope for future events. Abdul Qayoom motivated students to engage actively in similar programs.
Former Councillor Sheikh Minjee presented a memorandum requesting improvements to school infrastructure, which EC Hussain promised to address. The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony recognizing the students’ exceptional achievements.
