JAMMU, Nov 29: Inter School District Level Athletics Competition for all age group girls commenced today at athletic ground, University of Jammu, here.
Around 206 participants of various institutions of District Jammu are taking part in the competition.
The competition was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports District Jammu under the supervision of Madan Lal, Joint Director Youth Services & Sports Jammu. Chanchal Kour, DYSSO Jammu is the Organizing Secretary of competition.
In the inaugural ceremony, Dr Dawood Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu was the chief guest. All the ZPEOs and concerning officials of Jammu District were also present on the occasion.
In U-19 Discus Throw, Harsimran of HSS Miran Sahib secured first position, whereas in U-17, Tanea Kumari of HS Simal Camp emerged winner and in U-14, Rubiya Begum of HS Simbal Camp bagged first positions.
In U-14 400 meters, Muskan Firdous of KB Public School bagged first position, whereas in U-19, Kajol Devi of GHSS Jourian emerged as winner.
In U-19 3000 meters, Shevata of HSS Miran Sahib bagged first positions.
In U-19 High Jump, Manvi of GHSS Satwari bagged first positions, whereas in U-17, Aditiya of MHAC Nagbani secured first position and in U-14, Ayushi Rajput clinched first position.
The matches were officiated by panel of experts from the Department of Youth Services and Sports District Jammu.
