ANANTNAG, June 13: An inter-school painting competition was organized at IRP-11th Battalion Headquarter to pay tribute to martyrs, here today.
The event was inaugurated by Sandeep Mehta, Commandant IRP-11th Battalion. In the event 10 students each from Govt Middle School Hanji Mohalla Batengoo Anantnag and Govt Middle School Karnagund Guree participated.
The event was witnessed by respectable citizens of the area, Headmasters of both Schools, staff members, Gazetted officers of the Battalion and other officials of the unit.
Hanif Nabi of GMS Karnagund Guree, Sehrish Tariq of GMS Karnagund Guree and Fatima of GMS Hanji Mohalla Batengoo Anantnag were awarded with first three prizes respectively, besides medals were given to all participants.
The Headmasters of both the Schools while speaking on the occasion thanked J&K Police in general and Commandant IRP-11th Bn in particular for organizing such an interesting event for students. They also highlighted that such types of events could boost the morale of students and continue to be held in future too.
In his valedictory address, the Commandant appreciated the efforts of the participants and their Schools and stressed upon them to remain proactive and participative in the community policing and help police in achieving the desired targets of a peaceful society.
Moreover, as a goodwill gesture of both the Head Masters one Band set was presented to Govt Middle School Karnagund Guree Anantnag as well as Public Address System (PAS) was presented for Govt Middle School Hanji Mohalla Batengoo.
