JAMMU, Apr 21: The Shri Ram Universal School under the aegis of Jammu Sahodya Schools Complex organized an inter-school poster making competition for students of grade VI to grade VIII, wherein students of 24 schools participated, here today.
Rakesh Kumar, Contemporary Visual Artist and Faculty at Institute of Music and Fine Arts, University of Kashmir was invited as chief guest cum judge of the competition, while Dr KCS Mehta, Principal International Delhi Public School Akhnoor and mentor JSSC graced the occasion as guests of honour.
The other dignitaries present to witness the event included Sanjiv Gupta, Chairman TSUSJ, Rajni Gupta, Director TSUSJ, Col VK Sharma, Principal TSUSJ and Shivani Vaid, Headmistress.
Keeping in line with the green policy of the School, the chief guest and guests of honour were felicitated by the School management with a potted plant.
The students of the School presented Ganesh Vandana to evoke the blessings of the almighty. Col VK Sharma, Principal TSUSJ extended a warm welcome to one and all and encouraged the participants to do their best.
The theme for the competition was “Be the change that you wish to see -unlocking limitless potential.” The students did full justice to the topic and displayed an excellent understanding of the nuances of fine arts.
The chief guest boosted up the morale of the participants and demonstrated the finer aspects of the subject by drawing sketches. The students as well as the accompanying arts teachers enjoyed the expertise of the chief guest.
First position went to Rich Harvest School, while 2nd position was bagged by The Shri Ram Universal School and 3rd position was secured by International Delhi Public School, besides the consolation prizes were awarded to Shemford Futuristic School, Army Public School, Damana and Sai International School respectively.
The Headmistress presented the vote of thanks.
