Inter-School Taekwondo Championship commences

JAMMU, Apr 25: The Department of Youth Services and Sports District Samba organized District Level Inter School Teakwon-Do Championship at Humanity Public High School, Bassi Kalan Bari Brahmana, here today.
According to a handout issued here, all the five zones participated in the tournament with 40 players taking part from all over the district.
The tournament was inaugurated by the District Officer Subash Chander Bhardwaj and Gaurav Charak, Principal of the School.
Vijay Singh, B D Sharma, Rakesh Kumari, Raghubir Singh and Pardeep Singh were present on the occasion.
The Championship was held under the guidance of Director General Youth Services and Sports J&K, Navin Agarwal.
The officials present on occasion were Rekha Sambyal, Anirudh Singh Slathia, Raj Singh Chib, Kiran Bala, Suman Lata Sharma, Zorawar Singh Sambyal, Hardeep Singh, Dalbir Singh, Mohinder Kumar and Pankaj Kumar.
In Under-14 boys, below 21 kg, Akash Verma (APS BD Bari) and Lachhman (Humanity Public School Bassi Kalan), while in below 23 kg, Prav Rajgotra (APS BD Bari) and Abhimanyu (Humanity Public School Bassi Kalan) claimed 1st and 2nd place respectively.
In below 25 kg, Rahul Kumar (MIER) and Koushal (Humanity Public School Bassi Kalan) and below 27 kg, Dinesh Kundal (MIER) and Varun Sharma (BBN) won the first two places respectively.
Meanwhile in Under-17 boys below 35 kg, Danish Malik (Humanity School Bassi Kalan) and Varun Sharma (APS B D Bari), while in below 38 kg, Kuljeet Singh (Humanity Public School Bassi Kalan) and Ayush Dogra (APS BD Bari) claimed first and second positions respectively
In below 41kg, Abhishek Gandhi (APS BD Bari) and Rupal (Neta Ji School Vijaypur) calimed Ist and 2nd places and in below 44 kg, Rajveer Singh (APS BD Bari) and Rahul Choudhary (APS BD Bari) bagged first and second positions respectively.
