POONCH, May 31: Department of Youth Services and Sports J&K today organized an exhilarating Inter-school Taekwondo Championship at Poonch for under 14 and under 17 boys and girls.
The event took place at the Sports Stadium Poonch, where 100 young budding athletes from different schools in Zone Poonch showcased their skills and determination. The competition was held under the guidance of District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Mohd Qasim, and the supervision of Narinder Singh, ZPEO Poonch.
The competition was inaugurated by Mohd Qasim in the presence of Narinder Singh and Harbans Singh (PEM). The bouts were conducted under the technical supervision of Rajinder Singh, a National Referee, along with his team comprising of Pawandeep Singh (PET), Aman Sharma (REK) and other members from the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Poonch.
In U-14 Boys’ category, Sehzad Ahmed, Mohd Firdose, Rananjay Gupta, Chanderdeep Shandil, Garvin Gupta and Rehan Mehmood bagged gold medals while Tahzeem Akhter, Taniyana Koser, Ruksana Akhter, Ronika Dutta, Shagufta, Aasma Tabussam and Maryiam Aziz Mir won gold medals in U-14 Girls’ category.
