SUNDERBANI, May 5: Two-day tournament in the disciplines of Volleyball, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi and Wrestling in age group of Under-14 years boys, started at Government Boys Higher Secondary School, here today.
The tournament is being held under the patronage of Navin Agarwal, Director General Youth Services and Sports, J&K.
The tournament was inaugurated by Balwant Raj Sharma, Vice-Principal of the School, who in his address stressed upon the importance of games and sports.
Jaswant Singh, ZPEO, Sunderbani and RC Sharma, ZPEO Lower Hathal were present on the occasion.
At Sunderbani zone, In kabbadi, Middle School, Sunderbani defeated Middle School, Sodra, while In Volleyball, Middle School, Sunderbani drubbed High School, Peli and in Kho-Kho, Middle School, Laman got better of Middle School, Sunderbani by 4 points.
At Lower Hathal, in Volleyball, Middle School, Bandrai defeated Middle School, Upper Hathal by 2-1 sets, while in Kabbadi, Middle School, Bandrai outplayed Middle School, Mawa by 4 points and in Kho-Kho, Middle School, Mawa prevailed over Middle School, Badrai by 4 points.
One hundred sixty players drawn from 11 Schools of Sunderbani zone and five Schools of Lower Hathal zone participated in the tournament.
