Inter-School Tournament of Ramgarh zone gets underway

SAMBA, May 2: The Inter-School Tournament in the disciplines of volleyball, kho-kho and kabaddi Under-14 and Under-17 boys and girls of Ramgarh zone got underway at Government High School Mahal Shakan, here today.
The Tournament was inaugurated by Headmaster, Government High School Mahal Shakan in a simple function.
The Tournament is being conducted under the supervision of Mohan Singh Jamwal and the matches were officiated by Kulbir Singh, Rajender Singh, Promila, Chander Prakash, Kapoor Chand, Dhanraj Singh and Sudesh Choudhary.
In volleyball Under-17 boys, Govt HSS Ramgarh defeated Govt HSS Gho Brahamana by (2-0) sets, while in kho-kho Under-17 boys, HSS Gho Brahmana trounced HS Koulpur by one point.
In kabaddi Under-14 boys, MIER Khanpur outplayed HSS Nandpur by 13 points, while in kabaddi Under-17 boys, MIER Khanpur got better of HS Koulpur by 11 points.
Meanwhile, Government High School Sandhi defeated High School Birpur in Under-17 boys’ kabaddi, while Humanity Public School beat St Marry Convent School in Under-14 boys’ kabaddi in the Inter-School Tournament of Purmandal zone in the discipline of Kabaddi, kho-kho, volleyball and wrestling Under-14 and Under-17 boys and girls, being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports.
The tournament was held under the overall supervision of District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Samba, Subash Chander and was inaugurated by Parkash Lal Thapa, Principal Government Hr Sec School Smailpur.
15 Schools of Purmandal zone participated in the Tournament in boys section.
The matches were officiated by Tilak Raj, Anubhab Sharma, Ashok Kumar, Ram Paul, Rakesh Kumar and Sanjay Kotwal.
