Inter-School Tournaments held at Jammu, Satwari zones

JAMMU, Apr 27: Inter school matches of Jammu Zone started at Govt Girls Hr Sec School,Canal Road, here today.
The matches were held in the disciplines of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball, Wrestling and Cricket Under-14 and Under-17 Boys categories at Govt Girls Hr Secondary School Bakshi Nagar, here.
District Youth Services and Sports Officer Jammu, Sukhdev Raj Sharma was the guest of honour on the occasion, who encouraged the players for their participation.
Later, Incharge Principal, GHSS Canal Road and Harpreet Kour, Lecturer Commerce also motivated the students for fair play.
The matches were held under the supervision of ZPEO Jammu, Saroman Dogra.
Inter School Tournament in the sports disciplines of Volleyball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho and Wrestling for Boys  Under-14 and Under-17 years got underway at Govt. Boys High School Jammu cantonment.
In all, 310 boys from different schools of Satwari zone are competing for top honours.
The tournament was declared open by Headmaster Govt. High School Jammu Cantt,  Raj Rani Sharma.
The tournaments are being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports as an annual calendar of sports activities for the years of 2016-17.
The tournament was conducted under the chairmanship of Sukhdev Raj Sharma, DYSSO Jammu and under the overall supervision of Kiran Jyoti, ZPEO Satwari.
The matches are being officiated by panel of experts of the Department of Youth Services and Sports which included Asa Singh, Hardev Singh, Gurbachan Singh, Neeru and Ravinder Singh.
