KARGIL, July 6: Chief Planning Officer Kargil, Abdul Hadi inaugurated the Inter-state National Sqay Championship at Indoor Sports Stadium, here today.
The championship is being organised by Ladakh Sqay Association under the aegis of Sqay Federation of India wherein more than 150 players and officials are participating in the event.
The chief guest said that after becoming the Ladakh Union Territory, the players in the field of Martial Arts like Taekwondo, Boxing, Sqay etc got tremendous benefits. He also assured the organising committee on behalf of DC Kargil that the administration will provide all possible support for the successful completion of the event.
On this occasion, the players displayed their talents before the guests.
On this occasion, Accounts Officer, Ahmed Wazir and Secretary District Kargil Olympic Association, Syed Mehraj Uddin Shah were the guests of honour, while Mohd Ibrahim Shoqi ZEPO Kargil, Anayat Ali Shotopa, general secretary Ladakh Taekwondo Association and hundreds of spectators were also present during the event.
Vice-president Ladakh Sqay Association, Mudassir Hussain Wazir thanked the dignitaries for becoming the part of event, whereas Mohammad Saleem Pathan, Deputy Grand Master International Council of Sqay Martial Arts briefed about the Sqay Martial Arts and its history before the audience.
