JAMMU, Sept 5: Department of Youth Services and Sports of District Jammu organised Inter Zonal District Level Competition in the disciplines of Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Tug of War, Volleyball, Chess and Carrom in under-19 category at Khel Gaon Nagrota here today.
As per statement around 700 players of 72 teams took part in these competitions where Joint Director Youth Services and Sports Jammu, Suram Chand Sharma and Ravi Sharma, Deputy Director Planning Youth Services and Sports Jammu interacted with the players during the competition. The main aim of this competition is to select the best team for the next level of completion.
The results of the different competitions were, in Tug of War (Quarter Final), Zone Marh defeated Zone Satwari by 2-0 sets and Zone Akhnoor defeated Zone RS Pura by 2-0 sets, Zone Miran Sahib defeated Zone Khour by 2-0 sets and Zone Gandhi Nagar defeated Zone Jammu by 2-0 sets.
In Kho-Kho, Zone RS Pura beat Zone Jammu by 1 point, Zone Marh beat Zone Bishnah by 12 points, Zone Dansal beat Zone Arnia by 12 points. In Volleyball, Zone Bishnah beat Zone Jammu by 2-0 sets, Zone RS Pura beat Zone Marh by 2-0 sets, Zone Akhnoor beat Zone Gandhi Nagar by 2-0 sets and Zone Arnia beat Zone Dansal by 2-0 sets.
The tournament is being organised under the patronage of Director of Youth Services and Sports Jammu and Kashmir, Subash Chander Chibber.
