KISHTWAR, July 22: Inter-Zonal District Level under 14, under 17 boys’ tournament has commenced in Chowgan Ground in Kishtwar district here today.
The championship has been organized by the Youth Services and Sports Department Kishtwar, under the guidance of Director Youth Services and Sports, Jammu and Kashmir, Subash Chander Chiber.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), Kishtwar, Rajinder Singh was the chief guest on this occasion. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP), Kishtwar, Vishal Kumar and Kharati Lal Sharma, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Kishtwar were the guest of honour.
The statement said the participating teams have been selected from various Zones following intense competition at the Inter School Zonal Level Tournament, held across all zones of the district. The opening day witnessed a massive congregation of sports enthusiasts, players, and sports officials, all excited to witness the thrilling contests.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), Kishtwar, Rajinder Singh urged the youth of the district to exhibit their exceptional talents in their favorite games. He emphasized the significance of hard work as the pivotal key to success, stating that without a strong work ethic and dedication, achieving success becomes exceedingly difficult.
The sporting extravaganza commenced with an exhilarating Volleyball match between Zone Kishtwar and Zone Nagseni, shortly after the coin toss by the chief guest. Simultaneously, other playfields witnessed intense clashes in Kho-Kho, Tug of War, Rope Skipping, and Kabaddi matches.
The winners in the under 14 boys category are as follows in Kabaddi, Nagseni Zone; Kho-Kho; Kishtwar Zone. In Volleyball; Kishtwar Zone and in Tug of War; Drabshalla Zone.
