Inter-Zonal Tourney concludes at Ramban, commences at Kathua

JAMMU, May 21: The Inter-Zonal Tournaments in volleyball and kabaddi concluded at Higher Secondary School Ramban this evening, while the same in the disciplines of kabaddi and kho-kho got underway at Mini Sports Stadium, Hira Nagar today.
At Ramban, volleyball Under-19 boys title went to HSS Gool by defeating HSS Ukhral in the final, while kabaddi Under-19 boys, HSS Batote lifted the title, beating HSS Gool in the summit clash.
The tournament at Ramban was declared open by Director General Youth Services and Sports, Navin Agarwal the other day, while Dewan Chand Thakur, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Ramban was the chief guest. The tournament was held under the supervision of Harshi Kesh Koul, zonal physical education officer, Ramban.
Meanwhile, at Kathua the 3-day tournament is being held under the overall supervision of SK Chalotra, DYSSO Kathua.
Director General Youth Services and Sports, Navin Agarwal was the chief guest on the opening ceremony and declared the tournament open in an impressive and colourful function.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were SSP Kathua, Atul Goel, Additional SP Kathua, ZH Manhas, JK Sudan, ML Kaith and Girdhari Lal Chalotra.
Meanwhile, in kho-kho Under-14 girls, Bhaddu defeated Barnoti, Lakhanpur got better of Basohli and Kathua defeated Mahanpur, while in kho-kho Under-17 girls, Sallan trounced Barnoti and Kathua outplayed Basohli.
In kho-kho Under-14 boys, Hiranagar prevailed over Billawar, while Lakhanpur defeated Barnoti.
