JAMMU, Aug 31: Inter Zone District Level competitions in the sports disciplines of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball, Cricket and Wrestling of boys Under-19 years concluded, here today.
The competitions were organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Jammu under the patronage of Sheikh Fayaz Ahmed, Director Youth Services and Sports, and under the Chairmanship of Madan Lal, Joint Director Youth Services and Sports, Jammu while Chanchal Kour DYSSO Jammu was the organizing secretary.
The main objective of these competitions was to select the teams in these disciplines for the upcoming Inter District Divisional Level competitions.
At GHSS Domana, in Kabaddi Under-19 boys final, Jammu-Dansal zones got the better of Satwar-Gandhi Nagar zones by 42-38 points, while in Kho-Kho final, Marh-Bhalwal zone defeated Akhnoor- Chowki Choura zones by 11-07 points and in Volleyball Under-19 boys, Bhalwal-Marh zones and Khour-Jourian zones reached the finals.
Meanwhile, at MA Stadium, in Cricket Under-19 boys, Jammu zone prevailed over Gandhi Nagar zone in the finals of Pool A.
Jammu scored 106 in the stipulated 15 overs, while Gandhi Nagar scored 99 runs to lose the match by 7 runs. Madan Mohan was the coach of Jammu zone team, while Mukesh Sharma was coach of Gandhi Nagar zone.
