BHADERWAH, May 6: While giving boost to the rural talent in sports activities, District Youth Services and Sports Office (DYSSO) Doda organized District Level Inter-Zone tournament of girls for district Doda, which concluded at Bhaderwah today.
The competitions in the disciplines of Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Badminton, Volleyball and Wrestling for under-17 and under-14 girls was held at Government Higher Secondary School Girls Bhadarwah, in which 250 students from all 10 zones of District Doda participated.
The event was organised under the overall supervision of DYSSO Doda, Ashok Kumar Kotwal and conducted by ZPEO Bhaderwah Pritam Singh.
In final of Kabaddi Under-17, Bhala zone defeated Doda Zone by 10 points.
In Badminton Under 17, Shagun of Bhaderwah Zone defeated Sakshi of Bhaderwah zone, while in under-14 girls, Sheetal Devi defeated SK Akriti, both of Bhaderwah Zone.
In Kho-Kho under -17, Bhaderwah Zone beat Assar Zone, while in under-14, Bhalla Zone outplayed Bhaderwah zone.
In Volleyball Under-17, Bhalla zone defeated Bhadarwah Zone.
In wrestling, Kanika Sharma, Sakshi Anothra, Zainab Bano and Samreena won their bouts respectively.
Later, in prize distribution function DYSSO Doda, Ashok Kumar Kotwal along with other dignitaries presented Trophies and Medals to the winners and runners-up teams.
The matches were officiated by the technical team comprising PEMs Sanjay Kumar and Vinod Kumar, PETs Mudassir Maqbool, Zahoor Ilahi, Rajni Kotwal, Girdhari Lal, Madan Lal, Pawan Kumar and Gulshan Ahmed.
