JAMMU, Aug 2: Two-day ICSSR Sponsored International Conference on “Shifting paradigms in Applied Economics and Management: Course Correction” concluded this evening at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU).
The conference was conducted by Faculty of Management of the University.
Prof Sudhir K Jain, Vice Chancellor, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, was chief guest on the inaugural function of the conference. The keynote speaker of the conference was Prof Rajah Rashia, University of Malaya, Malaysia.
Prof Kuldeep Kumar, Bond University, Australia and Dr Mai Thai, International Business Department, HEC Montreal, Canada, who delivered her lecture through video conference and Prof KV Bhanumurthy, Department of Commerce, Delhi School of Economics, were other guest speakers.
The conference evoked massive response as more than 150 participants registered for the event from all over India and abroad. The paper presented by Prof Amarjeet Singh Sethi from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar on “Developmental Expenditure and Total factor Productivity Growth….” bagged the first prize in the best paper presented category.
Dr Surender Rao Komera from Institute of Financial Management and Research (IFMR), Chennai, received second prize and Prof KV Bhanumurthy, Department of Commerce, Delhi School of Economics, got the third prize.
The chief guest for the valedictory session was Prof Amarjeet Singh Sethi and Prof Neelu Rohmetra from School of Business, University of Jammu and Rector, Kathua Campus, was guest of honour.
The valedictory address was delivered by Prof D Mukhopadhyay, Dean, Faculty of Management, SMVDU.
Dr Kakali Majumdar, convener of the conference summarized and briefed about the conference. The vote of thanks was delivered by the organizing secretary, Pabitra Kumar Jena.
