JAMMU, Mar 14: The three-day 3rd International Business Plan Competition under the theme: Think Big-2018, organized by International Centre for Cross-Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR & HRM), University of Jammu in collaboration with Jammu Startup Community, commenced at Jammu University.
JU Vice-Chancellor Prof R.D. Sharma and Dean Academic Affairs, JU Prof Keshav Sharma were the chief guests during the inaugural ceremony. Rachna Sharma, Founder, Vision-2021 One Million Youth for Peace was the guest of honour and delivered the keynote address. Jainesh Sinha, Co-Founder, GyanDhan, Annil Suri, MD Tawi Arc Electrodes Pvt Ltd and Ankush Gupta, CEO ServicesMojo, Jammu, were the guest speakers during the inauguration ceremony.
Professor R D Sharma, in his presidential address, presented the picture of several successful business ventures that have evolved over a period of time and paved the way for professional, social and entrepreneurial development. He urged upon the students to work towards making a contribution to the society.
Professor Keshav Sharma highlighted the relevance of the MBA (International Business) Programme in the present globalised world and said that professionals in the domain need to distinguish themselves in terms of both content and substance.
Rachna Sharma motivated the students to be open minded, creative and positive for ensuring business success. She urged upon the students to internalise their thoughts and keep up their enthusiasm amidst all challenges especially in the contemporary business world.
Jainesh Sinha talked about the relevance of making education more accessible to all students. Annil Suri ignited the minds of the participants by urging upon them to self-introspect and incorporate the 3 ‘I’s of business leadership namely integrity, inspiration and insight, to ensure business success.
Ankush Gupta shared the thought of starting from the roots and deliberated upon the vision of Jammu Startup Community and offering mentorship to partner institutions.
Earlier, Professor Deepak Raj Gupta, Director, ICccR & HRM, threw light on the competition, which, he said, is primarily the vision of Professor Neelu Rohmetra, presently Director IIM, Sirmaur and founder Director, ICccR & HRM.
The competition spans across Post-Graduate and Graduate level, wherein, select 22 teams have been shortlisted for the final competition based upon contemporary relevance, context, market feasibility, financial aspects, innovation and the like. More than 200 students participated in the event today. The business proposals were desired to be developed along functional areas of management besides operational and production aspects.
