JAMMU, Apr 28: Wrestler Mirza of Iran lifted 42nd International “Kundorian Arli (Katra) Annual Dangal title 2024 by defeating Monu Dhaiya in the first main malli bout that lasted for 15 minutes here today.
Wrestler Mirza, the winner of 1st malli bout was awarded with cash prize of Rs 1, 25,000 while runner-up wrestler Monu Dhaiya got cash prize of Rs 75,000. The second main bout was won by Davinder of Kohali (Amritsar) who defeated Benia Min of J&K Police. Devinder was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 90,000, while runner-up wrestler Benia Min got a cash prize of Rs 60,000.
Another 2nd main malli bout was played between Hedo of Georgia and Kalu of Barobal (Chandigarh). This bout ended in a draw that lasted for 25 minutes and both the Wrestlers were jointly awarded with cash prize of Rs1, 25,000.
The 4th bout was won by Mohammed of Iran who defeated Major of Dera Baba Nanak (Punjab). Winner Wrestler Mohammed was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 60,000 while runner -up Wrestler Major got a cash prize of Rs 50,000.
DSP Katra Surinder Singh Billoria was the chief guest, who gave away cash prizes of Rs 9,15,000 to the winners. Shiv Kumar Sharma, former Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council and President J&K Indian Style wrestling Association presided over the function.
SHO Katra Nishant Gupta, BJP District President Rohit Dubey, Former Katra Municipal Committee Chairman Ambrish Magotra, SP (Retd) Prithvi Raj Sharma and former BDC chairman Chander Mohan Singh were the guests of honour.
Prominent persons present on the occasion included Former BDC chairman Balwan Singh, Varinder Badyal, Ram Paul Sharma, Sher Singh NC leader, Partap Krishan Sanmotra , Avtar Krishan (Bobby), Ajay Khajuria, Vikram Singh, lochan Singh, wrestling promoter Ram Paul Sharma, Deepak Wazir, and Rajinder Kumar Ramotra.
Dangal was organized by Kundorian Arli Dangal Committee with the active support of public Katra under the overall supervision of Karnail Singh, Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri), Former Sarpanch Mangal Singh, Former Sarpanch Jugal (Bablu), Krishan Singh and Vijay Kumar.
There were 28 bouts played in Dangal. The bouts were officiated by Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri), Om Parkash verma, Sat Paul Verma, Deepak Wazir, Tulinder Kumar, Raj Singh, Sahil Sharma, and Sunny Sharma.
Members of Kalka Mandir Dangal Committee Kundorian Arli who helped for smooth conduct of Dangal included former Sarpanch Karnail Singh (President), Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri), former Sarpanch Mangal Singh, Jugal (Bablu) Vijay Kumar, Ram Krishan, Krishan Singh, Mohan Lal, Kaku, Om Parkash, Ram Chand, Vikram Singh, Bindu Sanmotra, Rashid Mohd, Girdhari Lal and Nasib Chand.
