BAGHDAD, June 21: Iraqi football legend Ahmad Radhi died on Sunday at a hospital in Baghdad as a result of complications from the new coronavirus, Iraqi media reported.
The 56-year-old was considered a national star, known for scoring one World Cup goal in Mexico in 1986, when Iraq’s national football team, the Lions of Mesopotamia, qualified for the games.
Radhi spent most of his career in the Iraqi league, representing Al-Zawra’a and Al-Rasheed, winning five league titles and topping the scoring charts twice.(UNI)
