REASI, Nov 1: A debate competition on the topic “Care for the Parents/Elderly people is a part of our Tradition and Culture, left us care for the elders” was organized at Government High School Dhanori in Katra.
The students of Government High School Nomain, Government Middle School Nangal, Academy Amba Kids Panthal and Atog Academy Dhanori participated in the competition.
In the competition, Isha Jamwal of Government Middle School Nangal bagged first position, while Komal Jamwal of Government High School Dhanori secured second position and Sharuti Kumari of Amba Kid Academy Panthal clinched third position. The winners were awarded with cash prizes of Rs 500, Rs 400 and Rs 300 respectively, certificates and mementoes. The other participants were given the consolation prizes.
Jatinder Kumar Gupta Commandant 6th Battalion CRPF Katra was the chief guest, while Dhan Raj Sharma, Retd ZEO, Kaka Ram, ZEO Reasi and Dr Narinder Mohan were the guests of honour.
The function was presided over by Shiv Kumar Sharma President Senior Citizens Welfare Forum Katra and Hans Raj Sharma, Retd ZEO and senior member of the Forum.
RS Manhas General Secretary of the Forum presented the welcome address. Chanay Ram, Retd ZEO, RS Manhas Retd Headmaster, Charan Dass Retd Headmaster and Mohan Singh Retd ZEO were judges on the occasion.
Sukhdev Singh Vice-President of the Forum conducted the programme, while vote of thanks was presented by Mohan Lal Sharma Secretary of the Forum.
