JAMMU, Apr 19: Ishar Daredevils and Chenab Gas Royals registered convincing wins in the ongoing Police Public Cricket Premier League ‘PPCPL’ at Science College Hostel ground, here today.
In the first match, Ishar Daredevils prevailed over Simula Super Stars in a thrilling contest by one run.
Winning the toss and batting first, Ishar Daredevils scored 112 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Tehsin Dar (44), Deepak Dogra (19) runs and Manjeet Singh (17) were the main scorers. From Simula Super Stars, Dhruv Mahajan took 3 wickets, while Amandeep Singh took 2.
In reply, Simula managed to score 110 runs to lose the match by 2 runs in a thriller. Gulzar top scored with 27 runs, while Puneet contributed 19 runs and Amandeep chipped in with 16 runs. For Ishar Daredevils, Manjeet Singh was the wrecker-in-chief, who took 5 wickets, while Pankaj took 2 wickets and Deepak claimed 1. A cash prize of Rs 10,000 was given to the winning team, man of the match award of Rs 3000 was awarded to Manjeet Singh, while most sixes award of Rs 2000 was given to Gulzar of Simula and best catch award of Rs 1000 was also given to Manjeet.
In another match, Chenab Gas Royals defeated Jammu Khalsa Kings Eleven by 15 runs.
Batting first, Chenab Gas Royals scored 135 runs in 20 overs for the lost of 9 wickets. Bandeep Singh and Viswajeet Singh were the main scorers with 34 and 22 runs. For Jammu Khalsa Kings, Ram Dayal and Somay Jain took 3 wickets each, while Deepak took 2 and Manik Gupta claimed 1 wicket.
In reply, Jammu Khalsa Kings Eleven managed to score 120 runs to lose the match by 15 runs. Gokul and Soumay Jain contributed 34 and 14 runs to the total respectively. For Chenab Gas Royals, Pardeep Bali took 3 wickets, while Rahil Singh bagged 2. Vishwajeet Singh, Bandeep Singh and Ritik claimed 1 wicket each.
The cash prize of Rs 10,000 was given to the winning team, while man of the match award of Rs. 3000 was awarded to Bandeep Singh, most sixes award of Rs 2000 was given to Somay Jain of Jammu Khalsa and best catch award of Rs 1000 was also given to Viswajeet Singh.
Ashok Sharma SSP PCR Jammu was the chief guest in today’s matches, who distributed cash prize among the winning teams.
The matches were officiated by Sadiq Hussain, Amit Gupta, Harbinder Singh, JD Singh, Suhail and Sandeep Manchanda.
The proceedings of the post match presentation was conducted by RP Singh.
Rajesh Gill, former Ranji Trophy player and organizing secretary of the tournament informed that Ishar Daredevils will face BCC Bulls at 10 am and Chenab Gas Royals will take on Chenab Tigers Bhaderwah at 1 pm.
