Ishar XI, Simula XI register wins

JAMMU, Oct 28: Simula XI and Ishar XI scripted convincing victories over their rivals in the ongoing Eid-Diwali Milan T20 Cricket Cup, being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Police Department in collaboration with Simula Software at MA Stadium, here.
Earlier, in the first match, Ishar XI defeated Friends XI by a big margin of 71 runs in an easy contest. Batting first, Ishar XI scored a good total of 163 runs in the allotted 20 overs, losing 4 wickets in the process. Sandeep Singh was the top scorer with 67 runs, studded with 6 boundaries, while Vishavjeet Singh contributed 37 runs with 4 fours and one six. For Friends Club, Romario and Toffy claimed 2 wickets each.
Friends Club, in reply bundled out for a paltry total of 92 runs to lose the match by 71 runs. Justin was the top scorer with 33 runs, while Toffy and Ranchan contributed 11 and 9 runs respectively. Young off-spinner Pavit Singh and speedster Vishavjeet Singh captured 3 wickets, while Amrit bagged 2 wickets. Sandeep Singh was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant knock.
In another match, Simula XI thrashed Young Star XI by a huge margin of 80 runs. Batting first, Simula XI rode on a superb knock of 90 runs by Shashi Kumar and scored a mammoth 199 runs in the stipulated 20 overs for the loss of 5 wickets.
Shashi smashed 13 boundaries in his fabulous knock, while Irshad and Atul contributed 28 and 13 runs to the total. Vikas and Abhimanyu scalped 2 wickets each for Young Star Club.
Young Star, in reply managed to score 119 runs in the allotted 20 overs for the loss of 7 wickets, thus lost the match by 80 runs. Abhimanyu (18), Fazal (15), Sahil (14) and Zorawar (12) were the main contributors. For Simula XI, Hilal Rather and Varun took 2 wickets each, while Mohit and Vikram claimed one wicket each. Shashi was adjudged man of the match for brilliant batting display.
The tournament is being organized under the overall supervision of Dilbag Singh, IGP Jammu and Chairman of Organising Committee, while DIG JP Singh, SP Ramesh Angral, Hilal Rather, Rajesh Dhar and Rajesh Gill (organizing secretary) are the members of organizing Committee.
The tournament is being sponsored by Simula Software, Atman Sports Club and Ishar Sports Club, Jammu.
