JAMMU, Jan 5: Danube, UAE crushed Omfori, J&K by a huge margin of 108 runs in the ongoing JK-UAE T20 Friendship Cup 2016, being played at Ajman Oval Cricket Stadium, Dubai.
Earlier, winning the toss and electing to bat first, Danube scored 226 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Ishfaq was the top scorer with unbeaten 99 runs off 56 balls, while Asif Ali contributed valuable 67 runs to the total. Sunil Sambyal claimed 2 wickets for Omfori, J&K, while Mohit Puri bagged one wicket.
Omfori J&K, in reply collapsed at 118 runs, thus lost the match by a big margin of 108 runs. J&K’s current Ranji Trophy player, Imran Haroon top scored with 55 runs. Ali and Rana took 3 wickets each for Danube, while International Cricketer Riaz Afridi claimed 2 wickets.
In another match, Cost Cutter, UAE defeated Simax, J&K by 46 runs. Batting first, Cost Cutter, UAE scored 164 runs in 20 overs. Ihshan top scored with 65 runs. For Simax, Saqib, Majeed and Rajesh Gill claimed 2 wickets each.
In reply, Simax, J&K managed to score 118 runs in 20 overs. Imran and Asif Ali scored 24 and 28 runs respectively, while Rajesh Gill chipped in with14 runs. Yastoor, Ajmal, Usman and Naeem took 1 wicket each for Cost Cutter.
