Ishtiaq, Arvind help Road Safety to register win over LCC

JAMMU, Jan 10: Road Safety Cricket Club registered a big win by 7 wickets against Lakshmi Cricket Club in the ongoing 1st Road Safety T20 Cricket Championship, being jointly organized by Road Safety Department and District Police Jammu under the patronage of Sunil Kumar Sharma, Minister of State for Transport and Sports at Parade ground, here.
SSP RK Bhat and Rajesh Gill are the coordinators of the championship.
Earlier, batting first Lakshmi Cricket Club scored 125 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Rakesh top scored with 40 runs, while Hunny contributed 20 runs and Shahrukh chipped in with 14 runs. From Road Safety CC, Arvind and Showkat bagged 2 wickets each, while Ishtiaq, Rompy, Himanshu and Majid shared 1 wicket each.
In reply, Road Safety Cricket Club chased the target easily in 15.3 overs by losing 3 wickets, thus won the match by 7 wickets. Ishtiaq was the top scorer with 43 runs, while Arvind contributed 38 runs to the total and Mustafa scored 23.
From Lakshmi Club, Yogesh Sikka and Sameer Khajuria claimed 1 wicket each. Arvind was adjudged as man of the match.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor will take on Abhishek Cricket Club at 1 pm.
