Ishuk, Vidit, Abhishek make it to semis of Six Red Ball Tournament

JAMMU, June 22: Cueists Ishuk Chowdhary, Vidit Gawri and Abhishek Pathania defeated their rivals and made it to the semifinals of the ongoing Open J&K State Six Red Ball Prize Money Tournament, being organized by the J&K Billiards and Snooker Association at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium, here today.
Vidit had no difficulty to mark a win over Adnan, while Ishuk after losing the first frame to Sourab, equalized the game in the second frame and continued the winning momentum in the third and fourth sets to enter into the semis of the tournament.
In the first quarterfinal match, Ishuk Chowdhary beat Sourav Dogra by 3-1 frames. Sourav registered win in the first frame by 47-09 points, while Ishuk with his excellent skills, equalized the game by clinching the second frame by 34-18 points.
Ishuk again proved his mettle and won the third frame by 36-12 points and also made a clean sweep in the fourth frame by 42-00 points.
Vidit Gawri outplayed Adnan Lone in the second quarterfinal by straight 3-0 frames. In the first frame, both Vidit Gawri and Adnan Lone made a good start, but luck favoured Vidit, who won the frame by 44-31 points.
In the second and third frames, Vidit played magnificent game and registered berth in the semis of the tournament by winning the frames by 38-11 and 36-22 points.
Abhishek Pathania also made it to the semifinal stage of the tournament by crushing Aseem Ghai by 3-2 frames. In the first frame, Abhishek emerged winner by 38-23 points, while Aseem made a come back and won the second frame by 37-10 points.
Abhishek clinched the third frame by 38-21 points, while Aseem again equalized the game by winning the fouth frame by 46-32 points. In the last and the deciding frame, Abhishek came out to be winner by 40-17 points and sailed into the semis of the tournament.
