JAMMU, Aug 9: Underlining the need for promotion of Indian System of medicines (ISM), President, Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) Dr V P Tyagi said that the future of ISM is safe as Ayurveda is accepted and established form of medicine.
Addressing a felicitation function organised by Jammu Institute of Ayurveda and Research (JIAR) in his honour here today on being elected as President CCIM recently, Dr Tyagi said that consistent and concerted efforts are needed in promoting ISM in order to serve the society in a better way.
Those who participated in the felicitation function included members CCIM Dr Prasana, Dr Ragini Rajn Patil, Dr Vaneta Kumar, Dr Kashmir Singh, Deputy Director ISM Jammu and Kashmir, Deputy Commission Jammu, Sanjeev Verma who represented Minister for Health and Medical Education R S Chib.
Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma said that Jammu Institute of Ayurveda and Research is a pioneering institute in the State.
Appreciating JIAR in its service towards promotion of ISM, Executive Member CCIM, Dr Ragni Rajan Patel described it as great institution imparting knowledge of Ayurveda.
On the occasion, President CCIM, Dr V P Tyagi , Members CCIM- Dr Vaneta Kumar, Dr Prasana Rao, Dr Ragni Rajan Patil, Dr Kashmir Singh, Deputy Director ISM J&K were honored.
Earlier, the students of JIAR presented a colorful cultural programme which evoked thunderous applause of the audience.
Dr Roop Lal Sharma Chairman JIAR who is also the member of CCIM while presenting welcome address expressed his gratitude to the guests for participating in the programme.
