Srinagar, July 24: Scores of Indian System of Medicine (ISM) Pharmacists today held protest demonstrations against the non-advertisement of posts by the department lying vacant for last more than 8 years.
The aspirants alleged corruption in the ISM as they said that diploma certificates were sold to people who were later illegally appointed at various posts, depriving those who are qualified as per the rules and regulation.
“The genuine diploma holders of 2016-17 have been frustrated and agonized for being deprived of the opportunity of jobs ironically for the reason that hundreds of diploma certificates have been issued by the department of ISM in 2008-09 to even the candidates who figure in cancellation list of 994 of 2008,” they said, adding that such candidates nor possess any training neither are they qualified.
The issue of fake certificates was taken up by the Crime Branch in 2014, however, the aspirants said that the investigation was going on at snail’s pace and now the case has been shelved. “It has happened all due to the influence of some high profile officers who are playing with our careers,” aspirants said.
Even after the Govt cancelled all such fraudulent appointments of 994 candidates that were made on the basis of fake certificates, the High Court directed the ISM to frame the guidelines and provide opportunity to all interested candidates by inviting application via proper advertisement.
“But all our genuine efforts and diploma got wasted when we came to know that hundreds of diploma certificates have been fraudulently issued by the then Director ISM in 2009, as such creating undue competition and hurdle in our career as these fraudulent appointees have occupied all posts in NHM, and apply on the basis of these fake certificates,” they said.
The aspirants are demanding the administration should fill-up already referred vacancies of ISM Pharmacists available with them since 8 years. These posts should be advertised on divisional basis in relaxation of standing rules.
Moreover, they also demanded that the IGP Crime should make efforts to speed up the investigation of Certificate Scam of ISM, the case which is registered under FIR number 18/2016.
