JAMMU, Sept 13: The Inter-School Zonal Level (ISZL) tournaments were going on in full swing in different Zones of various districts of Jammu province.
The tournaments are being held under the patronage of Gazanffar Ali, Director, Youth Services and Sports (YS&S) J&K and overall supervision of Jitendra Mishra, Deputy Director YS&S. The District Officers are supervising the events in various zones.
The Department of Youth Services and Sports district Samba organised an ISZL tournament in the disciplines of Kho- Kho, Volleyball and Kabaddi in all age groups at Samba, Ramnagar, Purmandal and Ghagwal zones under the overall supervision of DYSSO Samba, Kiran Jyoti wherein a total of 437 athletes took part in various events.
The same tournaments in the disciplines of Kabaddi, Yoga and Wrestling were held in Satwari and Gandhi Nagar Zones of district Jammu under the overall supervision of DYSSO Jammu, Sukhdev Raj Sharma wherein 78 players (boys & girls) drawn from different institutions took part in the events, while at Satwari Zone a total of 282 players, both boys and girls participated in the sporting extravaganza. The event was held under the supervision of Satwinder Kour, ZPEO Satwari.
The Wrestling event of this meet in the age groups of under-14, 17 & 19 years boys was held at Dwarka Shastri Nath ji Akhara, Sohanjana.
The ISZL tournaments are also being organised in various Zones of Poonch, Rajouri, Reasi, Kishtwar, Doda, Udhampur, Kathua & Ramban districts.
Meanwhile, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Udhampur, Swaran Singh has finalised the list regarding the registration of Panchayats for YSS Cup 2021.
