ITBP organises Bharat Darshan Tour for nomadic students

LEH, Dec 12: ITBP 37th Battalion under its civic programme, organised week long excursion tour for the nomadic students from Changthang region.
Sector Headquarter, (NW) Frontier, DIG Ram Mehar Singh formally flagged off the students in presence of 37th Battalion Second-in-Command Sunil Kandpal during an impressive function held at Drona Hall 5th BN Choglamsar today.
As many as 46 students, including 26 girls and 20 boys from nomadic residential school Puga, Middle schools Anlay, Khaldo and Government middle schools Mudh are participating in the tour. During their tour, students will visits some historical and religious places such as Red Fort, India Gate, Qutub Minar in Delhi and Mahadev Temple and Sri Vallabha Temple (Kottayam) Maraikulam Beach (Allepey), Thrissur, Kumarakom Bird sanctuary, Cherai Beach in Kochi.
Addressing the students, DIG Ram Mehar Singh said that the aim of the Bharat Darshan tour is to connect the people and children of remote areas of Leh Ladakh region with the rest of India to enrich the knowledge of Indian culture, heritage and history to inculcate the sense of belongingness with the mainstream of country.
37th BN Second-in-Command Sunil Kandpal presented the welcome while 37th BN DC/GD Kalesh Kumar Kamal, through power point presentation, gave detail information about the tour.
