ITI students protest against lack of faculty, equipment

JAMMU, Oct 15: The students of Government ITI College, Mendhar, staged a protest demonstration in front of the office of Superintendent and boycotted classes, against lack of faculty and necessary equipment in various courses.
A large number of students of the College assembled in front of the office of superintendent about 10 am and protested against the lack of teaching facilities.
The protesting students said that when there is no instructor for the course of Plumber and Stenographer, then what would they do to attend the classes. Besides, necessary apparatus, which the students of Motor-Mechanic needed for practical purposes, are not available in the laboratory, they alleged.
The students raised slogans against the administration. Later, at about 11am, on the assurance of incharge, Superintendent, Mohd Fazal Khan, that their demands will be forwarded to the Director, Technical Education Jammu, for consideration, the students suspended their protest demonstration and went to attend their classes.
