NEW DELHI, Dec 9: Indian Youth Congress today launched the 5th edition of its flagship program ‘Young India KeBol’, with focus on the alarming rise in unemployment and the uncontrolled problem of drug addiction
This was announced by Youth Congress National president, Uday Bhanu Chib and AICC Incharge of NSUI, Kanhaiya Kumar, during a news conference , here today.
Uday Bhanu Chib said that the event this year will focus on two of the most serious and worrying problems that our country is facing today – the alarming rise in unemployment and the rampant drug menace.
“The rampant problem of unemployment and drug addiction is hollowing out the roots of our society. The scourge of these problems is affecting the lives of the youth and hampering the development of the entire society. We have to make united efforts to find solutions to these challenges,” he said.
Chib reminded that the BJP had promised to provide 2 crore jobs every year to tackle unemployment, but the reality is that in the last decade, since the Modi Government came to power in 2014, only 0.3 percent of the candidates who applied have got Government jobs. “The BJP has taken only electoral posturing and superficial steps to deal with the problem of unemployment, which exposes its careless mindset towards this serious issue,” he said and added that not only unemployment, but the problem of drug addiction in the country has also taken a serious turn.
Talking about the Young India KeBol program, Uday Bhanu Chib informed that the application process for this competition will start from 15th December 2024 through ‘With IYC App’.
“Interested participants will have to submit their videos on both these issues. Participants of this program will be invited at the state and national level, and they will be given the unique opportunity to become the state and national spokesperson of the Indian Youth Congress. Also, they will get a chance to express the party’s views on relevant issues,” he elaborated and appealed to the youth of the country to participate in this program in large numbers and force the Government to take effective steps to control the problem of unemployment and drug addiction.
