JAMMU, Oct 12: Inter-Zonal District Level (IZDL) competitions in various disciplines such as Football, Volleyball, Cricket, Kabaddi & Judo got underway at Khel Gaon Nagrota, here today.
About 200 students drawn from different zones of District Jammu are taking part in the events which were organized under the chairmanship of Gazanfer Ali and overall supervision of DYSSO Jammu.
In Judo under-14 girls, Aditya Sharma, Nagam Preet & Tankusha of Zone Jammu stood 1st in 32kg, 36kg and 44 kg respectively, whereas Shivangi of Gandhi Nagar zone remained 1st in 40kg and Nandani of Dansal zone clinched 1st position in 44 plus kg, whereas in Judo under-17, Parveen Akhter, Gurleen Kour, Navneet and Komal Kour stood 1st in 36kg, 40kg, 44kg & 70 kg respectively, while Leisha Gupta of Zone Gandhi Nagar secured 1st place in 48 kg and Harshita Singh, Prachi, Nirali and Archika of Jammu zone stood first in 52kg, 57kg, 63kg and 90 kg.
In Judo under-19 girls, Nitka Sharma, Payal, Khushi & Marthili of Zone Jammu secured 1st places in 40kg, 44kg, 48kg and 63kg, whereas Harleen Kour, Jarleen, Janmit Kour and Tamana of Marh zone got 1st positions in 52kg, 57kg, 70kg and 70 kg plus respectively.
In Cricket under-17 boys, Dansal beat R.S Pura by 51runs, whereas Bishnah trounced Akhnoor by 20 runs.
Meanwhile, in IZDL competition at Poonch in Kho-Kho, Surankote defeated Poonch by 11-2 points in under-17 girls category, while Nangali beat Surankote by 9-7 points in under-14 girls category.
