J&K-Delhi match ends in draw; Dhruv, Mousub score fifties

JAMMU, Dec 11: The U-19 Men’s Cooch Behar Trophy match between Jammu and Kashmir and Delhi ended in a draw at Jamia Millia Islamia Ground, here today. Dhruv Sharma scored second consecutive half-century in the match, while Mousub Mohd Bhat also scored fifty.
Conceding a first innings lead of 130 runs to Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir scored 192/4 in 72 overs at stumps on Day-4 today. Dhruv scored unbeaten 52 runs off 170 balls, studded with 7 boundaries, while Mousub contributed unconquered 50 off 112 balls with 5 fours. Kamaksh Sharma (36), Hatim Reyaz (30) and Bilal Ahmed Bhat (16) were the other contributors.
For Delhi, Saksham Gahlot took 2 wickets, while Rounak Waghela and Dhruv Kr Chumbak claimed one wicket each. Earlier, Delhi’s middle-order batter Tarun Bisht slammed a magnificent century to help Delhi gain a vital first innings lead. Delhi scored a massive total of 503/8 dl in 132.3 overs.
Tarun Bisht scored magnificent 163 runs off 295 balls studded with 13 boundaries. Rounak Waghela also slammed century, scoring 112 not out of 190 balls with 12 boundaries. Skipper Sourabh Deswal scored 64 off 87 balls with 7 boundaries, while Aditya Bhandari and Pranav Pant contributed 55 and 32 runs to the total respectively. For J&K, Ritvik Jaitley and Bismaadh Singh took 3 wickets each, while Mousub Mohammad Bhat claimed one wicket. J&K in the first innings scored a good total of 373 runs. Skipper Achintya Raj Khajuria had scored 84 runs off 145 balls studded with 9 boundaries, while Dhruv Sharma (52), Kamaksh Sharma (68), Hatim Reyaz (75) were the other batters who had scored splendid fifties.
For Delhi, Rounak Waghela had taken 4 wickets, Saksham Gehlot bagged 3 wickets, Dhruv Kr Chumbak took 2 wickets and Pranav Pant claimed one wicket.
