JAMMU, Apr 4: J&K lost another chance to open account by facing defeat in a hard fought match against Himachal Pradesh by 17 runs in the North Zone T20 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali today. After winning the match, Himachal Pradesh obtained 4 points, while J&K remained at zero.
Jammu and Kashmir won the toss and decided to field. Himachal Pradesh scored 127 for 8 in 20 overs. Rishi Dhawan top-scored with 44 runs in 50 deliveries.
His painstaking knock contained just one boundary. Dhawan and Paras Dogra (12) stitched a 34 runs partnership for the third wicket before Dogra made his exit, caught y Waseem Raza of the bowling of Waseem Raza.
Opener Ankush Bains (14), Sumeet Verma (15), Akshay Chauhan (12) and Vikramjeet Malik (17) were their other main scorers. For Jammu and Kashmir, Waseem Raza (3 for 21) and Parvez Rasool (2 for 20) were the most successful bowlers.
Jammu and Kashmir batsmen found a target of 128 for victory a difficult task. They were bowled out for 110 in 19.3 overs. Abid Nabi (39, 3x4s, 3x6s) and Pranav Gupta (28) played good knock but in vain. Adil Reshi and Ishtiyaq Rasool contributed 15 and 12 runs, respectively.
Akshay Chauhan was the main wrecker-in-chief of Jammu and Kashmir as he captured four wickets for 16 runs in his four-over spell. Vikramjeet Malik and Rishi Dhawan got two wickets each for 28 and 24 runs, respectively.
