Jagti township to get regular power, water supply

SRINAGAR, Sept 5: The meeting of the Departmental Related Standing Committee (DRSC-II) of Legislative Council on Revenue Department was held here today under the chairmanship of MLC, Vijay Bakaya to review the functioning of the department.
Legislators, Jahangir Hussain Mir, Dharambir Singh Oberoi and Dr. Shahnaz Ganai attended the meeting. They also gave valuable suggestions for further improving the functioning of the Revenue Development.
The Committee discussed threadbare the issues related to settlement of revenue records, procedure of land transfer to the allotees under the Roshni Act/Scheme, criteria being adopted by the authority to transfer of State land under Roshni Act and eviction of illegal encroachments.
The meeting was apprised that work of settlement of land records has been completed in 40 tehsils while as settlement work in rest of the tehsils is going-on in full swing.
The problem of erratic power and water supply in Jagti township also come under discussion during the meeting in which the concerned officers were asked to make fool proof arrangements to overcome the burning problems.
Earlier, the Committee thoroughly discussed upon the status of computerization of land records, issuance of ration cards to the migrants, details of evacuation of Kahcharai/State land progress of Roshni Schemes.

L. Deva, Relief Commissioner, Migrants, R. K. Pandita, Chief Engineer, M&RE, Jammu Shahnaz Goni, Chief Engineer, M&RE, Kashmir B. A. Khan, Chief Engineer, PHE, K. K. Gupta besides, Additional Secretary, Legislative Council and other senior officer of the Revenue Department and Council Secretariat were participated the meeting.
