JAMMU, Apr 30: Riding on brilliant century by Jahangir Lone and his opening wicket partnership of 118 runs with Ishtiaq Rasool (69), star-studded Murtaza Warriors crushed RCC Srinagar by a big margin of 108 runs to seal berth in the finals of the Jammu and Kashmir Premier League T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Jammu Tawi Sports Club at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
Now, in the summit clash Murtaza Warriors will lock horns with Kishan Chand Cricket Club (KCCC) at the same venue tomorrow.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Murtaza Warriors scored a mammoth total of 232 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process. Jahangir Lone top scored with power-packed 104 runs while Ishiaq Rasool contributed quick-fire 69 runs. Waseem Raza also chipped in with 13 runs. For RCC Srinagar, Sourab Chopra and Kulvinder Singh took 2 wickets each, while Praful Dhar and Satish Kumar claimed one wicket each. The pair of Ishtiaq and Jahangir sent the RCC bowlers on a leather-hunt, hitting the shots with fluidity and grace.
In reply, RCC Srinagar bundled out for 124 runs in 18.3 overs, thus lost the match by a big margin of 108 runs. Puneet Kumar top scored with 50 runs, while Kuldeep Kumar, Ahmer Iqkhlaq and Satish Kumar contributed 18, 17 and 15 runs respectively. Sahil was the pick of the bowlers for Murtaza Warriors, who took 4 important wickets, while Mohsin bagged 3 wickets. Abid Nabi and skipper Omar Alam claimed one wicket each. Jahangir Lone was declared as man of the match for his magnificent century.
