Jai Chandi Maa Cricket Club Mawa clinches title

SAMBA, June 29: Jai Chandi Maa Cricket Club Mawa won first Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Cricket tournament in Bardhan village of Samba by defeating Kapahi Cricket Club here today.
After winning the toss, Mawa’s team came to bat first and set a target of 117 runs in 10 overs. The players of Mawa’s team maintained their dominance over the bowlers from the beginning and scored a good score by hitting many fours and sixes one after the other.
While chasing the target, Kapahi Cricket Club fell at just 60 runs. In the final match, Rishav Jamwal of Mawa’s team was honoured as the Man of the Match for his excellent performance, while Sunil Kumar of Kapahi’s team was honoured as the best player of the competition.
There were 32 teams from across the district participating in the tournament. BJP leader Rakesh Singh Pinta was chief guest in the final match. He honoured the players of the winning and runner-up teams by giving them cash prizes and trophies. He also encouraged the local youth who organised the competition and said that due to such competitions, the local youth remain physically fit and stay away from bad habits like drug addiction. By playing in such competitions, many players bring glory to their state and country. On this occasion, former Sarpanch of Sarna Panchayat Karan Singh, Ramesh Kumar, Sethi, Ajay Kumar, Bodh Raj, Bhanu Pratap Singh Binny and many local youth were present.
