JAMMU, Apr 7: Gandhi Nagar Police arrested a driver of a jailer in a firing case. With the arrest of jailer’s driver, total arrest in the case rose to two.
As per police sources, driver of Superintendent Central Jail Kot Bhawal identified as Kuldeep Kumar, a resident of Tali Morh has been arrested in firing case registered by Gandhi Nagar Police Station.
The case was registered after some unknown persons opened fire on the residence of contractor Choudhary Nagar Singh on April 3 this year around 10 pm.
Kuldeep Kumar was in touch with those involved in the firing on contractor’s residence through mobile phone and his name surfaced during investigation of the case.
A team from Police Station Gandhi Nagar led by SHO Inspector Bharat Sharma arrested Kuldeep Kumar from Central Jail Kot Bhalwal premises.
Earlier, one person identified as Ajay Singh, son of Tirloki Nath was arrested by the police in the same case.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
